PORTUGIESER PERPETUAL CALENDAR
The perpetual moon phase display is one of the Schaffhausen manufacturer's most spectacular in-house designs. Kurt Klaus, the master watch maker at IWC who designed the company's first perpetual calendar, succeeded in the mid-1980's in reducing the deviation of the mini-moon of the display compared to the moon's actual orbit to just 1 day in 122 years. Today, the 52000 calibre features a deviation of 1 day in 577.5 years.

この永久ムーンフェイズ表示は、IW...Cが設計した複雑機構の中でも最上級の完成度を誇ります。IWC初の永久カレンダーを設計した時計師クルト・クラウスは、1980年代中旬、ムーンフェイズ表示の小さな月との誤差を、122年間でわずか1日にまでに縮めることに成功しました。今日のIWC自社製キャリバー52000では、577.5年後にわずか1日の誤差が生じます。
